Hugo LOVES those he knows and children, but can be protective of his home and family with strangers. Once introduced, he's ok with them. He's house trained and well behaved inside, playful and very affectionate. He had heartworm when he came in, but has since been treated. Hugo gets along well with most other dogs. He would be best in a home without cats, as he's overly interested in them. Hugo does have an allergy or something causing his ears to itch, which causes him to shake his head frequently and occasionally split the ear flaps open. The vet has not found a cause for this, but recommended frequent ear cleanings. Maybe your vet would have a different approach? Hugo can jump a 5' fence, so he would need a higher one or to be walked or put out on a cable.
